Gramma came to visit... this time for 2 whole weeks! It was fun to have her in town for more than a few days, and Violet and Daniel loved every minute.
The trip started off on a hilarious note as we swung by IKEA for some quick shopping (it's close to the airport) and a snack. Then the van decided not to start, so our errand turned into a day at IKEA. While we waited for help, Gramma and the kids played with every toy in the IKEA kids section, and we had ANOTHER snack. I'm telling you... if you have to be stranded somewhere, IKEA is now at the top of my list.
We indulged our crafty side and spent a few evening creating hair accessories for Violet (including the kind Mom used to make for me and my sister when we were kids). Even Daniel got involved, and used the plethora of gold buttons to practice his newfound addition and subtraction skills.
We had fun running errands, visiting our long-lost-friend: The Mall, and checking out a new little splash pad in town with the kids. We toasted marshmallows and hung out on the back porch long after dark, singing and playing music.
And then the trip ended as bizarrely as it began - with Violet losing her lunch THREE TIMES on the way to the airport. Nothing bonds grown women like frantically cleaning barf off of a kid/car seat.
It was a fabulous trip... and we are so looking forward to resuming the fun in July, when we're with the whole family in Texas.

I love those hair accessories you and your mom made can you do a tutorial or suggest website that might show how to create them!
